Why Recall
George Gascon?

As soon as he was sworn into office, District Attorney George Gascon began issuing directives to his prosecutors, instructing them to go soft on crime, coddle criminals, and trample upon the dignity and rights of crime victims.

To keep our communities safe, to mete out just punishment to those who break our laws, and to provide justice to crime victims throughout Los Angles County, we must recall District Attorney George Gascon.

Summary of George Gascon's Directives

Elimination of Cash Bail : Directive 20-06 Pretrial Release

Prosecutors are prohibited from requesting bail in most cases, including child abuse and domestic violence, regardless of criminal history

These crimes will be declined or dismissed.

Offenses Stricken or Dismissed: Directive 20-08 Sentencing Enhancement/Allegations

  • The DA’s office now treats repeat violent offenders as first-time offenders, including murder, rape, robbery, kidnapping, and sex offenses. The policy is retroactive.
  • George Gascón prohibits his prosecutors from filing sentencing enhancements such as great bodily injury, gang involvement, major narcotics trafficking, gun use, and if the offender is on probation or out on parole.
  • No sentence of life without the possibility of parole

No Matter the Age or Crime, Never Tried as an Adult: Directive 20-09 Youth Justice

  • No youth can be tried as an adult, EVER, regardless of the heinous nature of the crime.
  • The DA’s office now treats teenage repeat violent offenders as first-time offenders, even in the case of murder, rape, robbery, kidnapping, or sex offense.

No Death Penalty Ever: Directive 20-11 Death Penalty Policy

  • This prohibits prosecutors from seeking the death penalty in any case, ever.
  • The DA’s office now treats teenage repeat violent offenders as first-time offenders, even in the case of murder, rape, robbery, kidnapping, or sex offense.

George Gascon has forbidden prosecutors from attending parole hearings with victims or their family members, a cruel and unusual pro-criminal, anti-victim directive.
